Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai – Episode 6 – Getting Lost in a Mall and Scary Ghosts in Storage Rooms

February 16, 2026 by chikorita157 Leave a Comment
The teachers don’t like how Kaya is being creative about her picture that relates to her field trip.

After that shocking visit, when Kaya met her lost grandmother, Ebisumori, it was obvious that her grandmother freaked out over Kaya. Kaya remembers nothing of it. Behind the scenes, someone in her family wants to meet Kaya in person.

After that eventful trip, despite Kaya forgetting what happened after meeting her long-lost grandmother, she still draws ghosts in her field trip drawing of a forest. Funny how one of their teachers said that Kaya is making stuff up, except for Chie, of course.

Osamu is really being a creep here.

As for the first segment, Kaya is at the mall playing the claw machine with her father. As expected, Osamu observed Kaya while somehow being a creep. The funny thing is, after Kaya manages to win a plushie. After they left, Osamu lost sight of Kaya. After finding her, Kaya learns her father is missing.

Apparently, Osamu found that Kaya got lost.
You will never see mannequins in the same way ever again.
The Kaya that Osamu is with is not her, but actually a ghoul.

Of course, they went into a clothing store, and the mannequins were becoming a bit creepy. Kaya thought her father was in a changing room, but they found out it was just a hand. Funny how Osamu took Kaya to run away from those mannequins just to get stuck with a spirit that is an imposter of Kaya as he frantically presses the elevator doors. Thankfully, Kaya saved him.

Osamu is happy that he made it out alive.
She may look like her mon, but…
It’s one of Kaya(s lost aunts, Nana.

That said, Osamu took Kaya to the child assistance center. Someone who looked like Kaya’s mother came to pick Kaya up. Of course, Kaya becomes scared and runs off as she is afraid of her mother. However, she chases after her, but eventually takes her wig off, revealing that she is not Kaya’s mother, Mirai, but her aunt, Nana.

Thankfully, Kaya’s father ran to her and found Kaya. That is when he was able to introduce himself to Nana, who is Mirai’s older sister. Still, it’s quite obvious that she wants to meet Kaya for herself, given that her mother is going crazy and saying that Mirai is dead. Still, Nana doesn’t believe so, but it’s more like Schrodinger’s cat. Is Mirai really dead and possessed by a spirit, or is she alive, pregnant with another baby?

Chie has to calm a crying Sakuya after Kaya probably taunted her.

The second half is pretty predictable. Ken gets into trouble for throwing a shoe at a vase for the third time. The teacher had enough and sent him to the punishment room. However, Kaya and Sakuya thought the room was haunted. The funny thing is, they thought the storage room was it, but we find out Sakuya is scared of the dark, and a ghost is scaring her. Funny how Kaya turned on the light several times to see the ghost appear and disappear, but it felt like she was taunting Sakuya. Thankfully, Kaya defeated it, and Chie found them in the room with Sakuya, crying. Thankfully, Kaya explained what happened and apologized, so everything is fine.

We know why Nana decided to see Kaya in person.

That said, it’s obvious that Nana sees Kaya as possibly the thing that is tearing her family apart. We have no idea whether Mirai is alive. Also, the man that Osamu works with to find paranormal stuff tells him to stop investigating Kaya’s house. It makes me wonder why, besides the fact that Osamu is probably being a creep doing it. I guess the mystery behind Kaya and her mother deepens.
