With the championships nearing, the girls start working on the model rockets. Of course, there are a few things the girls have to do before the tournament.
As expected, the 5th episode is pretty close, without the extra scenes. The girls finally get their licenses (yes, it’s a thing in Japan) to launch black powdered rockets. It’s good that they left this in as it’s important and explained what type of licenses exist and that Matataki has an instructor license.
As expected, we see the girls do their test launches, with Umika making the most attempts. Also, it’s probably the first time Matataki calls Yuu a “denpa dango.” After all, she uses this name for Yuu many times in the anime.
It’s nice to see the birthday party sweets buffet scene make it to the JDrama. It was nice to see Umika, Haruno and Yuu give a present to Matataki and see her react to it along with the photobooth group photo. Also, Matataki making a cake with Haruno made it, although we didn’t get to see the cake. After all, this scene is important as it has essential character development for Haruno, who doesn’t like or hate anything. Also, it’s cute to see Haruno put an apron on Matataki. Also, we get to see Umika and Yuu do the crane game for those charms.
The only difference between the anime and JDrama is the parachute testing. In the JDrama, they did it in the rain. In the anime, they did it on a sunny day. Otherwise, it’s still close to the source and the anime, although it only has the important scenes.
