Finally, the big day came, and Umika, Yuu, and Haruno faced off against Matataki in a duel. Will Umika prevail?
For the most part, this episode focuses on Episodes 4 and 5. My mind is a little hazy as I mistakenly believe that the scene where Kei picked up bottles wasn’t in the last episode. It’s more like Yuu not drinking multiple liters of soda. But we see Umika, Yuu, and Haruno seeing Kei picking up bottles from the recycling bin. Also, it was nice to see the scene with Umika being out of frame in the photo booth. Of course, Yuu put her in the middle so she can’t get away. Surprisingly, they managed to pull off pretty much the same pose.
As for the rocket launch duel, it’s what you expect. Distances are close to the anime version, surprisingly. When Matataki launches a black powdered rocket, she is not cheating by putting a bottle on the top of the rocket’s body. Somehow, she gets the same result as the anime version, 127m. Of course, she launched it herself, meaning the actress has a license to launch them.
In the second half, the girls put in the club application. This time, Matataki tags along to visit the secret base. Surprisingly, the layout is the same, though. Also, that scene at the end of Episode 5 took place at the lighthouse instead, as Matataki and Haruno bring back the fireworks. It was funny to see their reactions when Umika and Yuu were about to do their forehead kisses before they got interrupted with “What are you doing?” Either way, it’s another good episode, and the important details are pretty close.
The next time Umika attends her first meeting, their teacher breaks the bad news about the club and the rocket festival. Also, they work on learning how to make those rockets and getting a license. I guess this is where the more exciting part comes.
