One of the aspects I missed from the last episode after the credits is what Azu is hiding. Azu is cold and acts like a mean girl. She lashes out at Rinko for assuming she wants to take the easy way out to lose weight. We find out that students in her school fat-shamed Azu, which caused her self-esteem to go down, which is not surprising. Fat shaming does not help get people to lose weight but instead makes the problem worse. Even at a clothing shop, when the shop employee tells her she doesn’t have her size, Azu becomes upset.
That said, fat shaming, in general, is not a good thing since it worsens the health of the victim. People think shaming them will make them correct their behaviors, but it does the opposite by exacerbating the problem. Sometimes, it might be genetic or caused by a side effect of medicine that treats some kind of disease, which might be outside their control. Of course, unrealistic beauty standards don’t help either.

Of course, how did Azu slim down? Was her slim figure real? Well, Azu became a witch with the hopes of keeping her slender figure. Rinko eventually meets Azu in the shop and understands what Azu is going to do. After all, Rinko knows that Azu has faced the same challenges, given Azu’s internalized fatphobia and weight loss. Even at the reunion party, she had some remarks made about her weight despite ignoring them. Also, her retiring teacher says not to worry about her appearance. That said, Rinko still doesn’t have the confidence to do jobs related to her weight, such as the model of being a pig.

In the end, Azu was the center as she performed a song with her members after apologizing to her. It allowed Rinko to finally gain the courage to turn down the job that self-depreciates her and gain the self-esteem to become what she wants to be. Sure, Azu’s problems aren’t fully resolved, but at least she redeems herself a bit and even defrosted with Yuina, even giving shoes to her. Even so, she returns to her usual self, although I wonder if the rest of the girls will see Azu’s true self.

Also, that frog deducted many points the girls earned, so the girls only gained 46 points. That frog is becoming sleazy, just like Kyuubey. Of course, Mai is using up all the magic in secret. I guess nobody is going to become full-fledged witches at this rate.
