Now that Yuu and Umika have decided to go ahead and start working towards their dream. Of course, Haruno saw Yuu and Umika coming down the stairs in the lighthouse and wondered what they were doing.
As expected, while the main story is mostly the same, only the important parts of the 2nd and 3rd episodes made it here. That is Haruno finding out what Umika and Yuu are planning to do to achieve their dream of building a rocket to space. Haruno decides to join along.
Of course, no gathering bottles or Yuu drinks a bunch of soda. Umika basically got the bottles from home. We see a glimpse of Umika’s little sister, Honami. Also, the JDrama version of the bottle rocket is shorter than the anime version, but the design is pretty much the same. It’s too bad there is no clue where the rocket went, although it went pretty high.
Another big difference is Matataki’s introduction. Yes, she is a bit cold, especially towards Umika, who couldn’t say anything. Funny there is no garage gate pushing. Still, it pretty much went how it went. We get a flashback of Umika trying to speak with Matataki and being unable to do so, which gets her annoyed after talking to a teacher. Yuu was in her dream this time instead of showing up in Umika’s bed. Still, she was in her bedroom as the window appeared open with the wind blowing on the curtains.
Otherwise, besides the extra scenes omitted from the 2nd and third episodes, the main story didn’t change too much. I think the scene where Umika issues a challenge is handled well. The question is, how will the duel between Matataki and Umika’s group turn out? We’ll see in the next episode.
